Christmas Lights and Food Banks.

This evening, the family and I took a drive around Dumfries looking at Christmas lights on houses.

It is one of my favourite parts of Christmas looking at the Christmas lights.

On the way back we passed a que outside a food bank.

It was large.

Very large.

On Christmas Eve, British people Queuing for food.

Statistics, news stories and headlines do not really convey what it means until you see a que of people waiting to get food from a food bank on Christmas Eve.

It’s genuinely given me a pause for thought.

It’s a sight that has not left my mind.

Austerity, Brexit, inflation and the cost of living crisis has broken the country, and do many of its subjects.

Britain is in real danger of drifting back to a Victorian state of being, where abject poverty is held off by voluntary actions of fellow subjects.

Whilst the government is happy to be distracted.

We all should be thankful for those food bank and angry at those that make their existence needed.

The Conservative Party has a lot of explaining to do.
