The Hobby Burrow in  Newton Stewart: South West Scotland's Best Wargaming Shop

Newton Stewart is a gem of town that forms the gateway to the Galloway hills and someware that I have spent a lot of time down the years.

It has a high street many small towns would kill for.

The latest addition to this high street is The Hobby Burrow. A gaming and wargaming shop that specialises in all things Warhammer, Warlord, Matic and Magic the Gathering.

The Hobby Burrow

Located on the high street next to the Co-Op and Simpsons Bakery. It is easy to stop with the 6foot high Nurgling in the window (Papa Nurgle would be pleased).

As you enter there is that lovely smell of plastic resign models and paint that always alerts you to wargaming.

Around the till area there is a table to paint and a range of card games like magic the gatherings and a progress display that is being built, which should be finished soon.

As well as a good selection of Star Wars Legion models. It was very hard not to spend a fortune, which is a good sign for a hobby shop.

Towards the back it the Warhammer ranges, airfix, Wardlord Games, Mantic and other model systems including some great scearny kits.

Further back is a selection of tables to game on.

Product Range

As you can guess Warhammer Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40K are a big part of the offering, as they are the biggest games. The store has a wide variety of boxed sets on offer, and at the time of writing did have some copies of levithan still available.

There are also ranges of paints from Citadel, Army Painter, Airfix and Gaming Forge.

Getting There

The shop is located on Newton Stewart High Street. To get to Newton Stewart head West from Dumfries along the A75 or East along the A75 from Stranear.
