The Joy and Sadness of a Toddler Christmas

One of the greatest parts of parenthood is watching your children enjoy the magic of Christmas.

From the belief in Santa’s ability to deliver a billion plus presents to the simple joy of them loving Christmas lights.

It’s a wonderful part of parenthood.

It is a joy.

However, it does also bring sadness.

For my toddler, the lights on inside and outside the house have been the real focal point this Christmas.

They have loved being in the car or walking around and seeing lights in shops, outside houses, inside houses and on the streets.

Now as the festive lights dim and are snuffed out (or switched off) the joy has disappeared.

Which has made me sad as well.

However.

Like all things in life, things, people and events that spark joy, can also leave us sad when they are no longer around.

Luckily being a toddler parent means that there is always a new joy (and tantrum) just around the corner to explore.
