Thoughts on becoming a Mid-Life Carer

I never thought at the grand old age of 41 I would be a carer and not able to work in the capacity that I wish.

It has been a shocking and torturous process.

Shocking as you realise that there is very little support out there and torturous because you are made to feel awful for having to claim certain benefits. The full details are not needed, I am just providing context for you.

Hopefully, I will be able to rebuild an income in the hours 9pm-11pm over the coming couple of years, so that we are able to become fully independent again.

Before becoming a carer, I had jobs and my own business for over a decade. I was, not necessarily a rich man, financially self-reliant person.

This is I suppose the direction of this blog moving forward, to understand the journey, teach what I have learned, and chart my progress towards this new goal. This is exciting and I look forward to sharing this journey.

The constraints will hopefully make this a journey worth following for you.

I suppose the one silver lining is that I will skip the indulgent Mid-Life crisis of the boomer generation.

Hey, what a silver lining to end on.
